Xbox 360 Price Drop Confirmed for Europe

Microsoft has finally confirmed the rumors that the Xbox 360 would be getting a price drop in Europe. Hopefully this is what we’ll soon see here in the States too. Here are the new prices:

  • Arcade – £159.99

Xbox 360 Price Cut in Europe

There are rumors going around the net right now about a possible price cut for the Xbox 360 in Europe. This is all in accordance to many UK retailers who have agreed on the price reduction. The rumor is of a €50 cut on each system and is believed to take place on March 14th. Could this mean a price cut in North America. Most likely. No retailers have yet gone on the record and Microsoft has no comment on the rumor, so let’s just hope for now.

Microsoft Dropping Backwards Compatibility Updates

Carmen Sandiego: The Secret of the Stolen Drums

Albert Penello of Xbox’s marketing group has stated “I don’t know if we have plans to do any more releases” and “It feels like we kind of hit the point of diminishing returns there. I know with the Xbox Originals, there are still things happening there, but in terms of a lot of engineering work around bringing out new titles, I think they’re winding that down.”

Well, there are more than 465 titles that are now backwards compatible with the system, so you might just have to be happy with that. It would be cool if Microsoft released a version of the Xbox 360 that had full backwards compatibility for a higher price. I’d buy it.

MGS4 360 Rumor…Just a Rumor

That’s right, the rumor about Metal Gear Solid 4 coming to the Xbox 360 has once again, been proven to be false. Michael Shelling of Konami has made a statement saying “For the record, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is a PlayStation 3 exclusive and there are no plans to develop an Xbox 360 version of the game.” So take that…rumor starting…people…of…stuff.

New Rez HD Video

I want the original version of Rez really bad, but I just can’t get myself to throw down $50 for this old of a game. I know I’ll do it eventually though. If you don’t want the original, or want both, check out the HD version coming out for the Xbox 360.
