The v2.36 firmware update for the Playstation 3 was announced just yesterday as coming soon, and it turns out, that it was actually last night. In Game XMB Finally Confirmed

PS3 XMB

In a blog post today from the Playstation Blog, PSN Network Operations Director, Eric Lempel confirmed that the in-game XMB will be coming in firmware update v2.40. On top of that, it will also include “trophies” which will be the Playstation 3’s form of the Xbox 360’s “achievements.” These are some pretty cool features. The only bad thing is that the next firmware update is v2.36, so there are still a few updates to go before we see these new features. At least we know they’re coming though

FaceBreaker Gameplay Video

Finally some actual gameplay from the FaceBreaker game. There has been a ton of character introduction videos, but no gameplay, but the latest introduction of the character named “Spin” features him fighting another character in the game. Check it out.

“Mature” Characters in Spore

When you give people the freedom to create and modify something in your video game, you just have to expect that there will something of the sexual nature involved. Team Ninja Plays Follow the Leader

Tomonobu Itagaki

Just last week, it was announced that Tomonobu Itagaki would be leaving Tecmo due to difficulties with his soon-to-be-former boss, and now it seems that his loyal team is following in his footsteps. It seems that three dozen or more other members of Team Ninja are leaving the company and all of them will be filing suit against Tecmo for unpaid bonus royalties.

This doesn’t look good for Tecmo. What makes matters even worse for Tecmo is that they might not have reported Itagaki’s lawsuit immediately when he filed it on May 24, which violates Japanese law. This is why you need to take care of your employees, or you could end up being screwed one day.

Another Full Album Coming to Rock Band

The Pixies Dolittle Cover

Joining The Cars and Judas Priest, a full album from the Pixies will be hitting Rock Band Soon. Harmonix announced that their album, Doolittle, will be available for download on June 17 for the Xbox 360 and June 19 on the Playstation 3.

On the home page of your Google Reader, you can type in the code using the arrow keys and keyboard, you’ll get a little easter egg. If you don’t know the code, shame on you. I’ll be nice though, so here it is; up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A. Enter it on the home screen of the Google Reader after you’ve logged in.
