Just an 80's kid still playing video games
Another week, another PS Store update. Not a very good one either. This week you can pick up the entire debut album from the Cars on Rock Band for $14.99 or each song individually if you like too. There are also discounts on a song from Lynyrd Skynyrd and All-American Rejects.
For game videos, you can watch stuff from Top Spin, Battlefield Bad Company, Dead Space, Project Origin, and Quake Wars. There are a couple of blu-ray trailers and PS3 wallpapers as well.
I mentioned last week that the full debut album from the Cars would be coming to Rock Band at some point and it looks like that some point is today. You can pick up the album in its entirety for 1200 Microsoft points or individual songs for 160 Microsoft points. Look for it on the Playstation 3 on Thursday.
Not a lot on the Playstation Store this week. There isn’t even anything to play. All of those European tracks for Rock Band is available now though. You can also download the PixelJunk Monsters album for $2.99, if you’re one of those hardcore videogame music junkies. On top of that though, there are some game videos, movie trailers and a couple of PS3 themes. Very dull indeed.
There are a few goodies for the PSP though. You can download the full game of The Con, and there are two demos for Hot Shots Golf with varying difficulties. The other stuff consists of a few game videos, game music, and a PSP wallpaper. Yay!
Okay, so this rumor has been going on for way too long now. It’s almost annoying to hear it anymore. This time though, it seems the rumor is no longer a rumor and is indeed a fact. According to July issue of EGM, 2K Games has confirmed that they are bringing the hugely popular shooter of theirs, Bioshock to the Playstation 3.
If you don’t believe me, the issues is being sent out to homes as I’m writing this, so keep an eye on your mailbox. The game should be available for the holiday season. Good news for Playstation 3 owners, and one less reason for a PS3 fanboy to buy an Xbox 360.
I guess the title says it all doesn’t it? If you own Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock for the Playstation 3, you’ll be getting a free God of War inspired track on June 5th, as can be found (barely) in the latest Playstation Underground newsletter. Cool! I’ll definitely be downloading it, whatever song it may be. Mostly just because I’m cheap and love free stuff though.
All of those European tracks that were announced last week for Rock Band are now here. Each song costs the usual 160 Microsoft points or $1.99 for the Playstation 3 on Thursday. Here’s the list again if you missed it on Friday.
If you’ve been waiting for another full album to download for Rock Band after the full Judas Priest album came out not too long ago, Harmonix is sure to please. This time around comes the full album from the Cars. This is their self-titled debut album, originally released in 1978.
There are only nine tracks, but this was a great one. I used to listen to this record all the time as a kid and I’ve actually just picked up the CD a few months ago. No pricing details or a date have yet been announced but here are the tracks that’ll be available.
If you’ve already taken apart the echochrome game for the Playstation 3, there are 20 more levels available for download. These are all user-generated levels that can only be accessed in freeform mode and will appear randomly during game play. You have to get started playing them soon though, because they’ll be gone after May 21.
Eric Lempel made a post last night around 7:30, simply stating that firmware update v2.35 would be going live “shortly” for the PS3 and that “This is a relatively minor update to improve stability of some PS3 titles.”. It wasn’t available to me around 8pm and I didn’t feel like waiting anymore. This morning however, it was magically there. How about that? Go get it.
If you just can’t wait to watch the intro to Metal Gear Solid 4 when it launches, here it is. Personally, I’d rather wait and get the full effect before I start the game, but I’m posting it here for those of you who wanna check it out.
